Because of its ease of use and set-up, in addition to its low cost of entry, Twitter is becoming a key marketing tool for local businesses. Naked Pizza, a shop in New Orleans, has been promoting itself via Twitter and recently did an exlusive Twitter promotion that brought in 15% of the store’s business for the day.
Naked Pizza targets people within a three-mile radius of the store because those are the people who are close enough to react to their messages on Twitter’s real-time service. The shop got a write up on TechCrunch after putting up a billboard outside publicising their Twitter account.
